We are strictly sunsetting public consumer-facing chat operations on social platforms. Core R&D on the Digital Persona Framework will continue in a closed, private environment.

Running an empathetic digital persona requires rigorous privacy controls. Our current architecture relies on free-tier cloud AI providers (like Google Gemini) whose terms permit the use of conversation data for their own model improvement. This fundamentally conflicts with our privacy vision.

Additionally, these AI provider terms strictly prohibit usage by individuals under 18. Therefore, we must enforce a strict 18+ age requirement.

Please do NOT share sensitive personal secrets (like passwords, financial details, or highly personal information) in your chats, even during the 48-hour sunset window.

Near-Future

• Centralised Data Management Console: Full account export and one-click data management.
• Client-Side Passphrase Encryption: Encryption keys derived from your passphrase (true zero-trust).
• Private LLM Compute: Transitioning entirely away from public cloud AI providers.
• Wider Age Support (13+): Implementing robust parental controls to safely support younger users once our private inference layer is live.

• Live 2D & 3D Avatars with reactive visual embodiment and real-time expressions.

The post-sunset phase marks the beginning of a collaborative R&D milestone. Full collaboration details and contributor guidelines will be revealed after the 48-hour public sunset completes.

• Gated Volunteer Beta: A selective group of volunteer testers will be invited to test Yuki in an exclusive R&D environment.
• Ownership Clarity: Volunteer access grants testing privileges to help shape the technology. It does NOT grant ownership of Yuki or her persona identity.
• Co-Creating the Future: Testers will contribute feedback to refine the concept of Digital Personas and help steer the open-source Digital Persona Framework.

Security & Encryption

• Infrastructure is secured utilizing industry best practices (zero trust principles, 2FA, passkeys for admin accounts) to protect against data breaches.
• Per-user encryption with individually derived keys protects stored data.
• Secrets are managed securely and loaded as ephemeral secrets directly into memory (never touching persistent disk storage).
• Stored user records (username, platform ID, created_at, last_active timestamps) exist in Neon/PostgreSQL (encrypted per-user). Admins NEVER modify or view user data without explicit user permission. A 6-hour backup is retained only as a last resort data recovery approach.
• Operational logs scrub PII pseudonymously.

Third-Party Platforms & Hosts

• Platform Governance: Telegram, Discord, and Hori-Z govern platform-level user accounts, identity, and chat transmission logs under their respective platform Terms of Service & Privacy Policies.
• Hosting Provider Traffic Logs: Infrastructure providers (Vercel, Oracle Cloud, Cloudflare) collect standard HTTP web traffic logs (IP addresses, visit timestamps, browser user agents) under their own privacy policies, even with tracking disabled.

Transparency is a core tenet of this project. Here is the reality of our current stack:

• Design Goal: True zero-knowledge, user-sovereign data, with absolutely no third-party training.
• Current Reality: The server currently holds the master encryption keys (client-side passphrase support is being built), and free-tier AI providers process conversations under terms that permit training use.
• The Fix: Sunsetting public exposure and moving to a closed beta eliminates these risks while we build the proper private infrastructure.

To ensure absolute clarity between fiction and reality, the Project Yuki website is strictly divided:

• Persona Space (Navbar): Pages like Home, About, Mindspace, and Chats represent Yuki's creative identity and are fully under her fictional persona's ownership.
• Reality Space (Footer): Pages like Help, Terms, Privacy, Contact, and Research (this page) represent the developer's reality. These are technical documentations and legal terms.
